What the students said about YIUS:

"What I think about YIUS is it is quite nice school to
help the students to go to world-wide universities with a
warm heart. As I am the first student who came to Curtin
Sarawak Malaysia from their institute, it is difficult for
them to help in communication with Curtin malaysia but they
tried to do and finally then I am a student of Curtin."

Happy 5th
Anniversary.!
I've so many great memories back when
I was in YIUS.... Even though I just
attended Certificate IV which was only
for 7 months,.. I was practically there
for over a year..!! :P... Being able to
help the school with events even after i
had finished my course was actually a
lot of fun for me.... I just really
enjoyed the whole environment of the
school... Everyone was close to each
other,...usually teasing one
another,...or discussing what to eat for
lunch.. :P... Yeah,..everyone at YIUS
loved to eat.!...We probably created a
lot of profit for the canteen as
well,...because, every time we ordered,.
it would bea lot of varieties
..It was never just one plate per
person.! Every break time was just a fun
experience.. And not just with my
classmates. But with the teachers as
well...and of course,.. the staff!..
..Some of the highlights of my
experience at YIUS would have to be the
times when I got to carry out my duties
as the president of the student council,
during my term... I remember the very
first time I got in front of everyone to
inform them about a school event,.. I
was so nervous....and in the end,. I
didn't even quite remember what I just
said... I had to later ask Thaint if I
even informed them right.. .And of
cause, I will always remember the thrill
of giving a graduation speech for the
first time..!! ..I'm very thankful to
all the teachers, staff and everyone at
YIUS for being part of a time in my life
that I'll never forget..... Happy 5th
Anniversary ..!! |

I realised that my
life has advanced more than ever before
since I decided to enroll into YIUS
because I believed this school would
help me achieve my career the way I want
and I realized that I'm not high-school
student anymore. At the 1st day I got to
the school, I felt the atmosphere was
fantastic and I felt comfortable talking
with staff who were great and helpful.
After that, I've met the teachers who
were actually proficient at their job,
and friends which became the greatest
friends of mine and that was really
important for me because I always feel
stronger when they are with me. The
experiences while I was at YIUS were
incredible and learnt many new things
which I didn't learn at my high school.
Now, I'm studying abroad as the way I
always wanted to be independent after I
graduated from YIUS and making new
friends and dealing with new
experiences. This is kind of a challenge
for me but I like it!! Again, thanks
YIUS for everything and memories will
always remain!! Keep it up, the same as
you have done and I wish the school the
best of luck!!! |

In my life I got support to grow my life
and stand successfully by myself from my
parents, my family, my friends and of
course YIUS, which played a main role in
my life that I can’t forget. YIUS is a
school with surrounded by friend ness,
happiness, warmness, kindness, and
freedom and this is due to its teachers,
staff and everyone who are part of YIUS.
Furthermore it is the only place where I
could find my target goal and have a
chance to set a goal. Yes, now I am
walking on my set goal to achieve it. I
have so many memories back at YIUS as I
studied about two years at YIUS from
PUE-1 to Cert.IVB. From all memories, I
can never forget the events held by YIUS
which were amazing and really happy.
Yahh!! This is all I want to say
now...as YIUS more than everyone says..And I'm very thankful to all the
teachers, staff and everyone at YIUS for
everything and I especially want to
thank to Tr. Zin Thu and Tr. George who
were my first teachers at PUE.I and they
are really really nice and they are more
than teacher. Ko Zaw Myint.....yah...he
is also a very nice man and friendly. |

First and foremost,
as a former student of YIUS I proudly
congratulate YIUS on achieving its 5th
Anniversary. During my learning period in YIUS I had
many great unforgettable memories that I
will cherish throughout my life. I am
also ever so grateful to all the
teachers who taught me all that I needed
to know both in education and in life.
The YIUS staff have always been helpful
and made my learning experience in YIUS
all so much easier and I am also
grateful for that. Furthermore, my
learning experience in YIUS would never
have been so much fun and memorable
without all my lovely friends that I
have gotten to know and adore.YIUS has helped make my transition to
university so much easier. For example,
back when I was attending public school
I never had the chance of presenting in
front of a crowd but during my time in
YIUS I was given the opportunities to
present in front of my class. This
experience in particular has made things
much less difficult now when I do
presentations in front of a large
audience in Curtin University.
I will forever be grateful to YIUS for
nurturing me into the student that I am
today and for that I will always hold a
place in my heart for YIUS. Lastly, I
would like to wish YIUS all the best and
success in the future.
Love,
Chit Su (CIC, Perth) |

Even though we are
all lead on different parts in our own
life and on to different careers, there
is always something common in our heart
and that is the time we've spent
together with lots of memories and these
times will be always remarkable,
especially, the times I've spent at YIUS
which has a lot of incredible memories,
that were life changing!! I never
imagined that I would experience many
new things in such a foundation course,
but after all that, I felt like I was
ready for the next step of my life and
my career. Thank you YIUS and keep it up
as you always have done!! |

Win Thawdar@ Aleas
YIUS happens to be the happiest
part of my education journey, the place
where I had a chance to find out my
potential and the place where I could
actually become somebody from nobody. I
am very glad that I had a chance to meet
all my friends and all my teachers. Even
though this sentence seems boring, I do
love them, I really truly love them.
Even though I might have some bad
memories, I can still remember all the
moments I had in YIUS, mostly good ones.
The time when I had to do the very first
presentation, the first time when I had
to stand in front of the class with all
the eyes on me, the time when I had to
read my first poem to the class, I was
scared, I was terrified, but I knew that
I had to do my very best because I knew
what the teachers were expecting and I
couldn’t disappoint them.
YIUS has taught me so many things. Most
importantly, YIUS is the place where I
know what the word “team” is like.
Naturally, all of you might think this
is because of all the group
presentations. Yes, I will not say that
these are not one of the reasons. But I
believe the main reason is that how much
time we actually spent together. It was
amazing. If something bad was happening
to a person, the others would be right
beside that person to tell him or her to
keep on going. The time like when one of
my girl friends nearly crumpled down
before the presentation, the time when I
nearly cried in the middle of the
presentation because I thought I was
doing really bad. They would smile and
say “It’s ok. You’re doing great,” or
the concern on their face would really
show that they were also afraid of you
failing something. If I asked them why
they care, they would answer to me
“because you do”. They care about the
things that I care. And they really made
me feel that I am belonged to what it’s
called a team. We ate together, we
laughed together, we annoyed the
teachers together like no one else would
do and we joked around like total fools.
Those were the times we could still feel
like kids but we did take our
responsibilities seriously. Most
importantly, we learned things together
and we really helped each other out not
only in studies but in everything.
I have to admit that I was very lazy to
go to school when I was in high school
but in YIUS, I didn’t want to miss a
day. I actually ENJOYED learning in YIUS.
7 months seemed so fast. Even before we
knew it, the countdown began. Only one
month was left, only three weeks, only 5
days. It was a very strange feeling. I
have never been that disappointed in my
life about something that had come to an
end. No more seeing each other every
day, no more sitting in our usual places
in our classrooms, no more eating our
favourite food at the cosy corner, no
more fighting, arguing and then hugging
each other after a fight, no more
laughing with the teachers even when we
“tried” to be very serious.
Now, I am attending James Cook uni in
Singapore and I do make sure that YIUS’s
name was mentioned every time my
lectures say something good about me.
All my friends know YIUS. You can ask
them if you don’t believe me, haha. YIUS
is the place I will always remember. It
is the place where the journey of the
studies for my life profession really
began. |
